The Sakai Education and Culture Center (Sofia Sakai) isn’t just a hall that can seat 798 persons and a gallery that can be divided through the use of moving panels; thanks to the planetarium and the observatory - which boasts a reflecting telescope with a 60cm aperture, making it one of the largest in Osaka prefecture - it’s a lifelong learning facility with a variety of purposes.
