“Around half of all heart transplants within Japan are conducted in Osaka. Even when looking internationally, Osaka is on the cutting edge of research and development in the field of circulatory organs such as the heart and lungs and has extensive experience with such medical treatments. At IFAO 2019, we had Osaka-based small and medium-sized enterprises with high technological capabilities exhibit at display booths, giving our conference attendees from around the world an opportunity to interact with these businesses. We additionally held an evening banquet at the Osaka Geihinkan Former Guest House at Osaka Castle and offered an Osaka Castle tour. The attendees were extremely satisfied with the unique conference programs that could only have happened in Osaka.”
IEEE VR 2019The 26th IEEE International Conference on Virtual Reality and 3D Interfaces
General Chair:Kiyoshi Kiyokawa, Ph.D.
Nara Institute of Science and Technology
“Osaka and the Kansai region are home to several research organizations in the field of virtual reality, along with many researchers. There were many conference attendees seeking opportunities to meet with these researchers, and the 2019 conference saw an increase in attendees from Asia. The conference also saw record numbers of overall attendees, posters, presentations, display booths, and sponsors. We were also able to host a social event in the famous Kuromon Ichiba market. Thanks to the casual experience of walking and eating through the market, giving rising to fun interactions with other conference attendees, the event proved to be wildly popular. I believe it is thanks to Osaka’s extensive experience with international conventions that we were able to realize our plans for the conference.”
