To solve various challenges in sustainable city planning, Osaka actively engages in cutting-edge technological innovations to aim for stress-free urban development. Osaka Prefecture has established the “Osaka Round Table toward Air Mobility Revolution Social Implementation,” and Osaka city has been designated as a Super City-type National Strategic Special Zone. The initiatives include implementing flying vehicles into the society and utilizing drones at construction sites.
Additionally, there are many automotive suppliers compatible with drones and next-generation air mobility, and there is an increasing trend of automotive-related companies based in Osaka entering the drone industry. The leading events in the recent growing drone industry and the emerging industry of flying vehicles, “Japan Drone” and “International Advanced Air Mobility EXPO,” will be held for the first time in the Kansai region. Beyond 2025～to beyond the Expo～
Drones and next-generation air mobility are anticipated to be the new industries and services with a wide range of applications in the urban transportation, tourism, healthcare, and disaster prevention fields. It is expected that the efforts being put by companies into these fields will further advance from 2025 to 2035. The Expo 2025, Osaka Kansai with the aim of commercializing flying vehicles is the catalyst for the advance, and particularly, next-generation air mobility (flying vehicles) is expected to attract significant attention. This exhibition provides a new platform for networking among those involved in drones and next-generation air mobility, supporting initiatives aimed at achieving commercial operations and facilitating business matching for the implementation of these technologies in society.
