Connections Luxury Asia Pacific will be held in Osaka for 3 consecutive years (2026-2028)!

The Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau, in partnership with Osaka Prefecture, has successfully secured Connections Luxury Asia Pacific, a premier business event for the luxury travel industry, to be held in Osaka for three consecutive years from 2026 to 2028.

With Expo 2025 and the upcoming opening of the IR (Integrated Resort) on the horizon, Osaka has seen a wave of new luxury hotel openings. By hosting Connections Luxury Asia Pacific, the Bureau aims to position Osaka as a top choice for high-spending luxury travelers and to further establish the city as Asia’s leading international cultural and tourism destination.

Attracting affluent travelers not only contributes significantly to GDP but also brings the added benefit of visitors who appreciate and respect local culture and customs. Moreover, this segment is seen as a potential solution to the growing issue of overtourism in Japan, as problem Japan is increasingly facing in certain areas.

In its first year, the event will prioritize quality over quantity, targeting around 200 buyers and suppliers. While participation will not be limited to any specific country, the initial focus will be on attracting affluent travelers from across Asia, with plans to expand to the increasingly interested markets of Europe, North America, and the Middle East in the coming years.

UK-born Jacobs Media Group created the networking brand Connections Luxury in 2014, since holding events for professionals and suppliers in the high end travel sector. These events have taken place abroad in countries such as the United States of America, United Kingdom, Spain, South Korea and more recently domestically in Tokyo.
