Global convention on school meal programs is a success in Osaka!

The Osaka International Convention Center welcomed the 2024 Global Child Nutrition Forum

When: December 9- 12, 2024

Where: Osaka International Convention Center

Organizer: Global Child Nutrition Foundation

The Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau provides a wide range of support for meeting and event planners who are considering Osaka as their next event destination. Osaka is bolstered by a support body made up of Osaka prefecture, the city of Osaka, and the local economic sector.

In December 2024, the Global Child Nutrition Foundation held their semi-annual Global Child Nutrition Forum on the theme of "School Meal Programs in an Era of Food System Transformation." The four-day event was attended by 408 people from 82 countries and included panel discussions and technical workshops on how to make high-quality school meal programs sustainable. On the final day, participants visited Japanese school meal programs.

The Forum's organizers chose Japan as their host destination because of Japan's outstanding national school meal program and nutrition education. The organizers cited many reasons for choosing Osaka, including the region's convenient access, as well as the Osaka International Convention Center's beautiful views of the Nakanoshima area scenery, proximity to nearby hotels and sites, and excellent facilities.

The Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau provided support for this convention by arranging a special ninja show at the Forum's gala dinner and celebration. The organizers expressed their satisfaction that participants were delighted by the show.
