We've partnered with Uber Japan: a new support option for meetings and events!
A first for Japan! Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau partners with Uber Japan to bring even more convenience and value for event planners
In order to enhance the meeting and event planning experience in Osaka, the Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau (OCTB) and Uber Japan Co., Ltd. have launched a new partnership. Starting April 10, 2025, this initiative will provide promotional discount codes for Uber rides to organizers and attendees of qualifying international conventions, domestic conferences, and incentive tours in Osaka, aiming to enhance attendee convenience and accessibility. This partnership is a first for Japan in terms of strategically bringing in more MICE* events to a destination. Leveraging the momentum of Expo 2025, the partnership aims to encourage even more meeting and event organizers to choose Osaka as their next host destination.
*MICE (Meetings, Incentive Travel, Conventions, and Exhibitions/Events) represents a vital sector of business tourism, driving economic growth and fostering innovation. Driven by the upcoming 2025 World Expo and the development of an Integrated Resort (IR), the OCTB is committed to establishing Osaka as a leading MICE events destination in Japan and Asia. We have established a MICE promotional body with stakeholders from across Osaka, aiming to attract and create MICE events that foster new business and innovation as well as drive global investment into Osaka.
Key Partnership Objectives:
To maximize the benefits of this collaboration, the OCTB and Uber Japan will actively exchange information and work together to:
1) Significantly enhance Osaka's appeal and convenience for meetings and events with the Uber promotional codes, and thus encourage more organizers to choose Osaka as a host destination
2) Increase Uber ride service adoption among attendees at MICE events supported by the OCTB
3) Share service usage data.
