Osaka MICE Business Alliance comes together to pave Osaka’s future
Celebrating the success of Expo 2025 and gearing up for the 2030 Integrated Resort
The Osaka MICE Business Alliance, a collaboration led by the Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau, recently hosted a seminar at THE OSAKA STATION HOTEL, Autograph Collection on February 3, 2026. After successfully hosting Expo 2025, Osaka continues to be in the global spotlight utilizing the momentum while moving toward Japan’s first integrated resort (IR). The seminar gave an in-depth analysis of the accomplishments and impacts of the international Expo, as well as the future of Osaka MICE.


Attended by 151 members of the Osaka MICE Business Alliance, this seminar focused on the concluded Expo 2025 and future IR facilities.
The seminar began with opening remarks from our Director, Yoshikazu Tanaka, and a warm welcome from THE OSAKA STATION HOTEL, Autograph Collection. General Manager Shinji Sato gave an overview of the hotel, highlighting their dedication to providing an excellent dining service, such as serving piping hot food regardless of the event size. Director General of the Secretariat of the Headquarters for the World Expo 2025, Manabu Inoue then provided a comprehensive overview of Expo 2025’s pinnacles and widespread impact.
Attendees also heard from Hiroshi Okamoto, Manager of Osaka Prefecture-Osaka City IR Promotion Bureau’s Promotion Department. He discussed the current status and future plans of the integrated resort being built on Yumeshima Island. Finally, Ken Matsumoto, Executive Officer of the Japan Convention Management Association (JCMA) gave a brief overview of their influential activities in Japan’s MICE ecosystem.
Seminar Highlights

THE OSAKA STATION HOTEL, Autograph Collection
Shinji Sato shared insights into the popular 5-star hotel, including their unique thematic concept as well as commitment to excellent dining service for both guests and event attendees of all levels.
Expo 2025
Director General of the Secretariat of the Headquarters for the World Expo 2025, Manabu Inoue provided key insight on the beloved 6-month event, including breakdowns of attendance, both national and international initiatives, exchange programs begun as the event’s legacy, the MICE impact, and more.


Strengthening Community
Before the seminar broke for a networking session and quick recess, Director Yoshikazu Tanaka took the opportunity to introduce the members of the MICE team at the Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau.
Integrated Resort (IR)
Hiroshi Okamoto, Manager of Osaka Prefecture-Osaka City IR Promotion Bureau’s Promotion Department, gave more in-depth information on Japan’s much anticipated integrated resort. While still many details of the IR are either in progress or confidential, Hiroshi shared specifics about the MICE facilities planned for the grounds, access, expected tourism and economic impact, attendance structure, and more.


The Japan Convention Management Association
Executive Officer of the Japan Convention Management Association (JCMA), Ken Matsumoto, detailed the organization's purpose and general activities as well as future planned events.
