Central Japan Railway Company collaborates with the OCTB in MICE support!
Central Japan Railway Company and the Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau
come together to offer meeting support!
Building on the legacy of Expo 2025 and preparing for the opening of Japan's first Integrated Resort (IR), Osaka is well on it's path to becoming a hub of knowledge where innovation and commerce from around the world converge. In this Osaka, where history and the future intersect, organizers can host unprecedented meetings and events that exceeds participants' expectations. The events industry is expected to expand further in the future, and the Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau is standing at the forefront, promoting its growth.
In 2026, the Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau and Central Japan Railway Company (henceforth referred to as JR Central) will jointly hold the "JR Central x Osaka MICE Event Support" to help bring more meetings, incentive travel, conventions, events, and more to Osaka.
This project aims to boost the appeal of Osaka by providing financial assistance to event organizers who plan to utilize the Tokaido Shinkansen, thereby enhancing Osaka's allure as a global event city and further revitalizing the local economy.
Project Overview
The Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau and JR Central will collaborate to provide support for events that meet certain requirements, among which includes that host city be undecided with Osaka as a potential location.
Support will be provided for MICE events such as conferences, academic meetings, conventions, corporate meetings, incentive travel, and exhibitions/events. A comprehensive review will be conducted based on factors such as the scale of participation and the nature of the event. For further details, please contact the Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau.
Eligible Expenses
Expenses directly related to MICE events held within Osaka Prefecture are eligible for this support. Please note that certain conditions apply.
Application Process
Organizers wishing to receive support must hold a preliminary consultation with the Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau before deciding on the host area. After oficially deciding to hold the event in Osaka, they will proceed with the application process. Support will be provided to projects selected for support after the review process, based on performance reports and other factors following the completion of the event.

JR Central is also utilizing the Shinkansen as a unique venue, offering services that allow customers to charter an entire car of the Tokaido Shinkansen, operating between Tokyo and Shin-Osaka, and hold exclusive events on board. This service can be used for a variety of occasions, such as incentive travel, pre-seminars while heading toward the final destination, and networking events. In the chartered car, various options are available on request, including interior decorations such as original headrests and red carpets, audio speakers, and dedicated attendant staff.
