Osaka moves up in international meeting destination rankings!
Osaka ranks up to Asia's top 18 and Japan's top 3 in ICCA's destination rankings!
To improve on meeting and event services in Osaka, the Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau collects data and information on events happening across the region and reports this information to global authorities in the industry. ICCA (the International Congress and Convention Association) is a global community and knowledge hub for the international association and governmental meetings industry, and annually releases a report on the number of meetings held in each major destination worldwide.
ICCA has released their Country and City Rankings for 2024, a report considered an industry standard, and Osaka has moved up 5 places compared to last year, now ranking 18 out of 70 Asian destinations, third in all of Japan. Additionally, four events were held outside of Osaka city, bringing the total number of ICCA-qualifying international conferences in Osaka Prefecture to 31. If Osaka Prefecture were ranked as a single region, this would place Osaka at 16th place in the Asia. Osaka continutes working to improve it's global standing leading up to Expo 2025, showcasing the flexibilty to hold a variety of events, including adaptating to new global standards in sustainability.
Osaka is consistently chosen as an event destination by meeting planners because of the support provided by the Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau, backed by an All-Osaka team made up of the government and local economic sector.
