Expo 2025, the world's next biggest event, is almost here!

Take a look at the kinds of events going on and types of tickets available.

When: April 13- October 13, 2025 (184 days)

Where: Yumeshima Island in the Osaka Bay

Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai will be held for 184 days from April 13 to October 13, 2025, on the island of Yumeshima in the Osaka Bay. This event comes 55 years after Japan’s very first World Expo in 1970, also held in Osaka. With an estimated 28.2 million visitors, Expo 2025 is expected to draw guests and travelers from around the world. The theme of Expo 2025 is "Designing the Future Society for Our Lives," aiming to contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and achieve Society 5.0, Japan's national vision for a future society that aims to integrate technologies into existing society.

Information on national pavilions and the eye-catching wooden ring called the Grand Ring Roof has already been released, generating much anticipation. The Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau collaborates with the Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition to promote this event so that visitors from around the world can have a truly unique World Expo experience.

Pavilions

As of December 2024, 161 countries/ regions and 9 international organizations have officially declared their participation in Expo 2025. The event will also feature 13 pavilions from the private sector, in addition to the Japan Pavilion, Women's Pavilion, Osaka Healthcare Pavilion, Kansai Pavilion, and the Signature Pavilions, led by eight producers, located at the center of the Expo venue. Each country will have either an independent or shared pavilion, where they will showcase the latest innovations from their region.

The Osaka Healthcare Pavilion, jointly exhibited by Osaka Prefecture and Osaka City with universities, companies, and other organizations, will provide an exhibition experience aimed for visitors of all ages, under the theme of "REBORN", from the perspectives of life and health. Visitors will be able to take a peek at their future selves based on their Personal Health Record (PHR), and experience future food and healthcare.

Events

Expect a wild array of exciting events daily, offering opportunities for fun, learning, and new discoveries. Throughout the World Expo, each of the official participating countries, regions, and international organizations will host a National Day or Special Day. These serve to celebrate the participation of each nation, deepen understanding of their cultures, and promote international goodwill. These Days will feature ceremonies and cultural events, inviting domestic and foreign dignitaries as well as general visitors to experience diverse cultures. Additionally, a nightly water show titled "A Symphony of Blue and the Rainbow" will be held on the water plaza, south of the signature Grand Roof Ring, featuring a mesmerizing blend of water, air, light, fire, visuals, and music. Japanese singer Ado will also hold a special opening live performance at the outdoor Expo Arena to commemorate the grand opening of the World Expo on April 13, 2025.

Types of Admission Tickets

As a six-month-long event, Expo 2025 offers several different schemes to enter the Expo venue, with five different types of tickets available to take advantage of the opportunity.

I Advance Ticket (One-Day Ticket)

1) Opening Ticket: allows one entry between April 13 and 26.
2) First-Half Period Ticket: allows one entry between April 13 and July 18.
3) Early Bird One- Day Ticket: when purchased before April 12, allows one entry at any time during the Expo period.

II Advance Ticket (Multiple- Entry Pass)

1) Season Pass: allows multiple entries between April 13 and October 3, every day after 11:00 a.m. With the Season Pass you can book up to three entries in advance.
2) Summer Pass: allows multiple entries between July 19 and Aug 31, every day after 11:00 a.m. With the Summer Pass you can book up to two entries in advance.

III Special Tickets

1) Special Discount Ticket: available for guests with a disability certificate and an accompanying guest (assistance.)
2) Free ticket for children aged 3 and under: allows one entry at any time during the Expo

IV Ticket Sales During the Expo

Weekday Tickets and Night Tickets are available during the Expo in addition to One-Day Tickets.
1) One-Day Ticket: can be used for one entry at any time during the Expo.
2) Weekday Ticket: can be used for one entry on weekdays from 11:00 am during the Expo.
3) Night Ticket: can be used for one entry after 5:00 pm during the Expo.

V Group Tickets (Simultaneous Entry)

MICE groups in particular can take advantage of the reduced cost of group tickets.
1) Groups of 15 or more: can qualify for special pricing when entering the venue simultaneously on any day during the Expo.
2) School Groups (First Half): can qualify for First Half pricing when entering on a day between April 13 and July 18.
3) School Groups (Second Half): can receive Second Half pricing when entering on a day between July 19 and October 13.
