About Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai
Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai will be held for 184 days from April 13 to October 13, 2025, on the island of Yumeshima in the Osaka Bay. This event comes 55 years after Japan’s very first World Expo in 1970, also held in Osaka. With an estimated 28.2 million visitors, Expo 2025 is expected to draw guests and travelers from around the world. The theme of Expo 2025 is "Designing the Future Society for Our Lives," aiming to contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and achieve Society 5.0, Japan's national vision for a future society that aims to integrate technologies into existing society.
Upcoming content from Expo 2025 and its Grand Ring (recentled crowned the world's largest wooden structure) are already receiving extensive global attention The Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau collaborates with the Expo Association to promote this event so that visitors from around the world can have a truly unique World Expo experience.

Getting to the Expo 2025 Site (Yumeshima Island)
Expo 2025, being held on an artificial island in Osaka Bay called Yumeshima Island, offers five diverse transportation options (train, bicycle, bus, boat, and car), ensuring a convenient and efficient mode of transport for all visitors.


1) By Train
The Osaka Metro Chuo Line is directly connected to Yumeshima Station, which is in front of the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai site (East Gate). It carries many passengers and is an easily accessible means of transportation from within Osaka City.

2) By Bicycle
Visitors traveling by bicycle are requested to use the Yumeshima Bicycle Parking Lot, and requires a reservation at least one day in advance. The Sakishima Bicycle Parking Space in front of Cosmosquare station is also available.

3) (A) By Shuttle Bus from JR Sakurajima Station
At Expo 2025, a direct shuttle bus service to the Expo site (West Gate) is available from Sakurajima Station on the JR Yumesaki Line. It is very convenient for those traveling from far away using the shinkansen bullet train, airports, etc. A separate fare is required for the shuttle bus.
Between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m., passengers who have paid in advance will be given priority.
If you are using a wheelchair or a stroller, you can make a reservation in advance at any time, so please download the dedicated KANSAI MaaS App to make a reservation.

3) (B) By Shuttle Bus from Nearby Major Station
There is a direct shuttle bus service that departs from major stations in the Kansai region directly to the entrance of the Expo 2025 site. All seats are reserved so you can sit back and relax as you travel to the site (some buses excepted). Use the dedicated KANSAI MaaS App to make a reservation.

4) By Boat
The Expo 2025 site is located on Yumeshima Island, being the first World Expo in history to be on a site surrounded by the sea. Visitors can travel to the site by passenger ship or ferry. Arrivals at the North Yumeshima Floating Piers will need to transfer to a local shuttle bus to reach the Expo site's West Gate (these shuttles do not require a reservation.)

5) By Car or Motorcycle (Using Park & Ride Lots)
Private cars are not allowed to enter the Expo site. Visitors coming by car can park at the Expo Park & Ride parking lot in Maishima, Amagasaki, or Sakai, and then transfer to the Park & Ride shuttle bus to the Expo site. These lots require reservation and payment at least one day in advance.
*You must make a reservation for the Expo Park & Ride parking lot at least one day in advance.
*The Park & Ride shuttle bus can only be used by those with a reservation for the Expo Park & Ride parking lot.
For visitors with special needs, wheelchair users, and others who require special mobility assistance, please use the Yumeshima Accessible Parking Lot. This lot requires reservation and payment at least one day in advance. The accessible lot is directly connected to the Expo site's East Entrance Plaza.

Points to Note When Visiting the Expo Site
For Visitors Using Taxis
Visitors coming by taxi can arrive at the Yumeshima Traffic Terminal in front of the West Gate. Please check for usage times, fares, etc. in advance with each taxi company.
Restrictions on Large Baggage
To maintain order as well as carry out safety and security measures, bringing in large baggage is prohibited at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai. When traveling from far away, please leave your baggage in a locker at your hotel, station or airport near your departure point in advance. For details, see the Restrictions on Large Baggage page.
