Watch Now: Sumiyoshi Taisha shrine hosts the stunning IGLTA Foundation Voyage Fundraiser!
Did you know that you can host an event in one of Japan's oldest shrines? Sumiyoshi Taisha, a revered shrine over 1,800 years old, is renowned for its blessings of safe travel and offers a breathtaking setting for unforgettable events. Host up to 700 guests in the Kisshoden banquet hall, blending traditional Japanese beauty with modern elegance.
Sumiyoshi Taisha was host to the 2024 IGLTA (International LGBTQ+ Travel Association) Foundation Voyage Fundraiser, showcasing its versatility as an extraordinary event venue. Beginning with a solemn Silent Pilgrimage procession through the shrine specially arranged for the IGLTA, the event featured a dynamic performance from the Waidaiko Hiryu taiko drum troupe and an exclusive performance of the traditional renjishi dance by renowned kabuki actors. This event’s theme of Osaka City Nights created a captivating blend of vibrant neon and traditional Japanese aesthetics only possible at Sumiyoshi Taisha.
